Machine work

Its important to realize and understand that a good short block, long block or race package or cylinder head work begins with great machine work. For this very reason we have made a huge investment in modern machinery. We do our block work using the latest in CNC technology to re sleeve, bore and hone as well as resurface the block. By doing this we can index of the main center line squaring up the block. We use Sunnen honing stones to finish our cylinder bores and use Mitutoyo Cylinder bore gauges to check our work. Our head work is done using Hass CNC equipment and Sunnen machines. Even with 25 years and counting of race winning engine building experience, if the machine work is not right, the engine will not be right. Its because of detailed machine work that our engines require very little time to break in. In some cases as little as 10 minutes of idling an engine at about 1500 to 2000 rpm. Often times when racing and we build an engine or short block at the last minute, there is no time to dyno it and break it in. It has to be ready to go and be reliable.
